Flower Pots Day Nursery is looking for a motivated and caring Apprentice Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children while gaining valuable hands-on experience and completing a childcare qualification alongside their role.

As part of our supportive nursery team, you will learn how to provide high-quality childcare within a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

As an Apprentice Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with experienced practitioners and managers while completing your college coursework and practical training. You will support children’s learning and development through play, activities, and daily care routines while developing your own skills and knowledge within early years education.

This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, develop professionally, and begin a long-term career within childcare.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing

Helping to maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment

Assisting with age-appropriate activities and play experiences

Completing observations, development records, and learning journals

Supporting daily routines, including mealtimes, nappy changing, and cleaning duties

Following nursery policies, procedures, and health and safety standards

Communicating positively with children, parents, and colleagues

Completing college coursework and assignments within set deadlines

Attending mandatory training sessions, meetings, and workshops

Supporting different Flower Pots nursery settings where required

What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for working with children

A positive and proactive attitude

Good communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to learn and complete a childcare qualification

Ability to work responsibly within a professional childcare environment

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role, which Flower Pots Day Nursery will arrange upon employment.
